Buying Aesthetic Equipment for the UAE: Documents and Import Questions

A model-specific checklist for documents, local eligibility checks, delivery responsibilities and current cost estimates before payment.

Before ordering aesthetic equipment for the UAE, collect a model-specific purchase and import checklist. The appropriate requirements depend on the actual device, intended use, importer and operating setting. Do not assume an exemption because a seller calls the machine “beauty equipment”, “salon equipment”, “white label” or a sample.

This page organizes procurement questions. It does not determine a customs classification, tax liability, registration requirement or permission to operate a device.

1. Identify the exact proposed purchase

Record the manufacturer, exact model, configuration, intended use, quantity and destination. Include handpieces and accessories, electrical requirements, packed dimensions and weight. Your local importer or qualified adviser needs this information to review the requirements before payment.

2. Confirm the applicable approvals locally

Ask the relevant qualified local adviser or licensed importer to identify the current product registration, import, premises and operator requirements for this exact purchase. Ask which authority and procedure apply now, which party must complete each step and whether any approval must be obtained before shipment.

Do not use a general article, a foreign certificate or another buyer's previous clearance as proof that your order qualifies. Requirements and responsibility should be resolved for your own transaction.

3. List the supplier documents actually available

Agree which of the following are available and required for the order:

  • Commercial invoice identifying the actual goods, parties, currency and transaction value.
  • Packing list with quantities, packages, weights and dimensions.
  • Manufacturer and model identification, specification and available instructions.
  • Applicable product, quality-system or test documents, with their exact scope and validity.
  • Origin documentation where required for the transaction.
  • Transport documentation for the agreed route.
  • Any additional local registration or import documents identified by your adviser.

Not every model has every certificate. Ask to review available documents before committing, and resolve missing requirements before shipment. The supplier checklist can help organize this review.

4. Agree delivery and cost responsibilities

The written offer should specify the chosen trade term, named place and applicable version, plus who arranges transport, insurance, clearance and local delivery. Confirm responsibility for charges and risks with the parties handling the shipment. Do not assume that a door-delivery quote includes import taxes, approval costs or every local charge.

Request a current estimate from your importer or broker for duties, taxes, clearance, inspection, storage and destination delivery. This page does not apply a fixed tax rate or predict your customs classification.

5. Separate preparation from transit

Ask for the production or preparation estimate, freight estimate and any approvals needed before dispatch. Customs checks, document issues, route changes and local approvals may affect arrival. A transport estimate is not a guaranteed delivery or clearance date.

6. Review the order before payment

Check that the configuration, available documents, payee, payment stages, warranty, training, shipping responsibilities and any conditions preventing dispatch are recorded together. Use accurate goods descriptions and transaction values; do not request false declarations or relabel the device to avoid requirements.
